When the state posts a TIP for public comment on TIP Manager, it lands on TIP Viewer, a public facing application equipped to display the necessary projects and collect comments. Both the Draft TIP and revisions for the Active TIP can be posted to TIP Viewer for public comment. Messages will appear in the TIP Viewer Banner if a TIP has been posted for public comment. There are two ways to submit comments in TIP Viewer: submit comments for the overall TIP or submit comments for a specific project.
Comments for TIP
To submit a comment for the overall TIP, the user must click the "here" link in the TIP Viewer banner. "Here" links automatically update the map and displayed data to reflect the projects within the selected TIP/Revision. Once selected, the message will update to read, "Click here to submit a general comment", allowing the user access to the "Submit Comment" pop-up. In this pop-up, the user must at least fill in the Comment field before selecting "Submit". The other fields are optional unless the user wishes to receive a response back (Request Response checkbox); then, they must also enter their name and email. Once the "Submit" button is selected, this feedback will be sent to TIP Manager for the agency's consideration.
Comments for Project
To submit a comment for a specific project, the user must first navigate to it. This can be accomplished by selecting a Project ID link in the Search Results table or selecting a point on the map. In the map pop-up, the "Submit Comments" button will open the "Submit Comment" pop-up for the user.
This version of the "Submit Comment" pop-up will be the same in appearance to the general version, except a Project ID will be provided since this comment is being made for a specific project. As previously mentioned, the user must at least fill in the Comment field before selecting "Submit". The other fields are optional unless the user wishes to receive a response back (Request Response checkbox); then, they must also enter their name and email. Once the "Submit" button is selected, this feedback will be sent to TIP Manager for the agency's consideration.
