The Revisions tab displays all the pending changes that have been included in a TIP Revision. To edit the available fields and update statuses, users must have the TIP Coordinator role or Revisions permission assigned; otherwise, these fields will be view-only.
Projects
All projects listed here will be in the typical format (Project Header and Project Change Table) as outlined in the Project Listing article. Below the Project Change Table will be an additional field: Select Comment. This field allows the user to enter a Revision Comment that will be included in Revision Summary reports, notifications, and public-facing information. These comments are stored at the project level, so there is a single comment for all changes related to the project on the Revisions tab. To ensure these comments are consistent, a picklist of pre-defined Revision Comments, as defined in the Standard Comment code list, can be selected. This list includes a free-form, custom option as well (see red box below).
Once an option is selected in the picklist, a pop-up will appear with an editable input field. Here, the user can enter relevant values to finish a Revision Comment or construct one from scratch. The "Save" button in the pop-up solidifies these values. If the user wishes to edit the Revision Comment at any point, the edit icon () can be selected to open the pop-up once more. The delete icon (
) can be used to remove the comment and set the field into a blank state.
To filter the displayed projects, the user can utilize the "Search By" picklist in the upper lefthand corner of the tab. The available filters here are Show All, Project ID, County, District, or MPO/RTPO. The user can also select the revision they wish to view through the "Select Revision" picklist. By default, the oldest unapproved revision is initially displayed in this window.
Other Controls
Beyond the listed projects, there are some other controls listed on the Revisions tab which help the user submit the changes to FHWA/FTA for approval. The table below describes these controls.
| Control | Location | Description |
| Revision Action (picklist) | Top Right of Tab | Bulk-updates the "Action" picklist for all displayed projects where its Action selection is currently blank. This picklist will only update the pending changes that correspond to the Action selected. |
| Save (button) | Bottom Center of Tab | Save any updates made on the Staging tab. |
| Cancel (button) | Bottom Center of Tab | Discard any updates made to the Staging tab. |
Actions in Revisions Tab
In the Revisions tab, the user must process pending changes through the workflow using the "Revision Action" picklist since all amendments within the revision will be processed in unison. The revision approval process, as dictated by the "Bulk Action" picklist, is defined below.
| Action | Description |
| Pending Public Comment (Status) | Initial status of the revision; additional project amendments can still be added from the Pre-Approved tab to the revision. |
| Post for Public Comment (Action) | Changes in the revision are posted to TIP Viewer for public comment; during this period, no updates can be made to individual amendments within the revision, nor can any other amendments be added to the revision. |
| End Public Comment (Action) | Stops the public comment period. |
| Pending MPO Board Approval (Status) |
Indicates that the revision is waiting for MPO Board approval. There are two actions that can be taken during this period:
While in this state, further amendments can be added to the revision. However, if new amendments are added, the revision status automatically returns to "Pending Public Comment" and the approval process starts over for the entire revision. Once the revision has been MPO Board approved, no further changes can be made. |
| Pending STIP Submittal (Status) | Indicates that the revision is pending submittal to the state for STIP incorporation. In this state, the "Submit to STIP" button leads the user to a pop-up to configure the information being sent to the state for approval. Once "Submit" is selected in the pop-up, the revision is locked from further changes from users. |
| Pending DOT Approval (Status) | Indicates that the revision is pending DOT Approval for incorporation into the STIP. Submitted changes land on the STIP Manager’s Pre-Approved tab for STIP users to add it to a STIP Revision. These changes will be approved by FHWA/FTA as needed. |
| FHWA/FTA Approved (Status) | Indicates that the revision has been fully approved by FHWA and FTA. Then, the privileged user (System Admin. security role or Revisions permission) can close the revision from STIP Manager. This will place the Revision on the History tab on both sides (STIP/TIP). Technical Corrections and Administrative Modifications will also be included in this revision for reporting purposes. |
Submit to STIP Button
When the "Submit to STIP" button is selected, a pop-up mirroring the format of an email will appear on the user's screen. This tool is used to configure the information being sent to the state for approval. There are some fields and buttons on this pop-up; the editability of the controls are indicated in the table below.
| Field/Control | Description |
| CC | Editable text field that can be used to enter one or more email addresses to which the report will be sent for reference only. Multiple email addresses must be separated by commas. Once a comma is used, the formerly entered email will be solidified in a pill shape, and more email addresses can be entered. |
| Subject | Message subject that is automatically populated based on the STIP Window and Revision Number; read-only in the pop-up. |
| Message | A pre-populated but editable text field that contains the email message to be sent. Template can be edited in Configuration Settings, Config Values ("Federal Email Template"). |
| Certification Letter | Section contains a "Select Files" button which opens the user's File Explorer for them to locate and add a relevant PDF to the message that will serve as the Certification Letter. |
| Attachments | Section contains a "Select Files" button which opens the user's File Explorer for them to locate and add relevant attachments to the message. |
| Preview Message (button) | Button navigates the user to a PDF that hosts the Revision Summary and Fiscal Constraint Analysis related to the revision as well as the uploaded Certification Letter and any additional PDF files. |
| Submit (button) | Button sends a notification to all users within STIP Manager with either the System Administrator security role or the Staging permission. Includes a PDF attachment (Revision Summary, Fiscal Constraint Analysis, MPO certification letters, and any additional PDF files). |
The user can then select the "Submit" button to send the message to the relevant STIP Manager users. Then, the revision will be locked from further changes from users.
