The Location section lies below the Project Details section on the Project Detail tab. The Location section provides users with the ability to add and edit location information for the selected project. This section will be collapsed by default, but it can be expanded using the caret on the ribbon header.
Ribbon Header
At the top of the Location section is a ribbon header which hosts the section name, an "Add New" icon, and a caret icon. The table below describes these controls:
| Control | Description |
| Add New ( |
This icon opens the "Add Location' pop-up used to add a Route Segment, Bridge Point, Traffic Point, Rail Crossing Point, New Polygon, New Line, New Point, or Boundary Area. |
| Caret | This icon expands the Location section ( |
Half Pane Setup
In the half-pane view, the location entries will appear below the ribbon header once the Location section is expanded (caret). Each entry here will be collapsed initially, displaying a ribbon with the location name, edit icon, delete icon, and caret icon.
| Ribbon Element | Description |
| Location Name | This displays the name of the location. |
| Edit ( |
This icon allows the user to edit the location record. |
| Delete ( |
This icon allows the user to delete the location record. |
| Caret ( |
This icon allows the user to expand the location record to show the Location Information. |
If the caret icon is used to expand a location record, the user will be able to view that record's Location Information. Additional columns can be added to the Location Information in Configuration Settings, Map Settings.
Full Pane Setup
The user can click the icon to view this section in full-pane mode. This format will host the same fields as shown in the expanded location records in half-pane view. However, the full-pane view will show this information in a table format. The user can still edit and delete entries from this view (Action column).
Actions
There are three actions the user can take in the Location section of the Detail tab: Add Location, Edit Location, and Delete Location. If any of these actions are taken, the map results will be updated after the save occurs.
Add Location
To define new locations, the user can select the "Add New" icon () in the Location ribbon header. Then, the Location section will be emptied to allow the user to specify a location. Initially, only the Location Type picklist will be viewable. There are eight location types supported in this application which can be selected in the "Location Type" picklist:

Multiple Values - Non-GIS Locations
When adding/editing Non-GIS locations, the system attempts to populate the fields using the connected map services. However, if it finds multiple values for a field, it will display "Multiple". Multiple values are not valid for locations. When a "Multiple" value exists in a field, it will appear in red with a warning icon which will alert the user that, "Multiple [value] were found. Please reselect and choose only one." The location cannot be saved until a single or a blank value exists in the field. If the user wants to reflect multiple values, such as districts or counties, they must create multiple locations and select a unique value for each.
