When a user enters the application for the first time, they will be met with a map view of the entire state (STIP Manager) or the entire MPO area (TIP Manager). The software centers around an Esri-based map whose beginning blank appearance gives room for personal queries. The map itself can be manipulated by many tools in order to obtain pertinent information.
Mouse Interactions
The mouse, whether attached to a laptop or an independent object, can be used to navigate the map. The user can utilize the mouse to zoom to an area of interest and perform further actions at this new distance. The user can use the mouse in these ways:
| Mouse Action | Used To... |
| Double-Click | Double-click on the screen to zoom in one level. |
| Pan | Click, hold, and drag the map to re-center. |
| Trackwheel Zoom | Zoom in by rolling the mouse wheel forward and zoom out by rolling the mouse wheel backward. |
| Touchpad Zoom | Zoom in by spreading fingers on the touchpad and zoom out by closing fingers. |
Map Icons
The Map Icons also alter the original map display of the application by allowing the user to zoom to an area/query of interest and change the look of the application. To learn more information about this tool, visit the Map Icons article in this section.
Map Filters
The Map Filters affect which projects are displayed on the map. This tool can be accessed by clicking on the caret icon on the lefthand side (see red box). To learn more information about this tool, visit the Map Filters article in this section.
